Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

We wrote this in plain English so you can see exactly what happens to your information. The short version: your health and workout information stays on your iPhone. It only leaves your phone when you chat with Remi, and only after you’ve agreed to that in the app.

This policy covers the Tempo iPhone app and this website, both run by Foxtide LLC (“we”, “us”). If anything here is unclear, email hello@foxtide.co.

What Tempo reads from the Apple Health app

With your permission, Tempo reads the following from the Apple Health app so it can build and adapt your training plan:

  • running and walking workouts (type, date, distance and duration)
  • heart rate, resting heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV)
  • distance, active energy and steps
  • running speed, running power and running form measurements (such as stride length and ground contact time)
  • workout effort ratings
  • sleep

Tempo only reads this information. It never writes anything to the Apple Health app. You choose which types to share when the app asks, and you can change that at any time (see “Your choices” below).

Where your information is stored

Everything Tempo reads, and everything the app works out from it (your plan, readiness trends and training load), is stored only on your iPhone. It is never synced to iCloud or CloudKit, and it is never uploaded to our servers.

When you chat with Remi

Remi, the AI coach, is part of Tempo Premium. Before your first chat, the app asks for your consent. Only if you agree, each message you send to Remi is sent, together with a snapshot of your training information, so Remi can give an answer that fits you. The snapshot includes your plan, short summaries of recent runs, your readiness numbers and your goal.

  • It travels encrypted (over TLS) to our server at tempo.foxtide.co, which passes it to Anthropic’s Claude AI model to write the reply, and sends the reply back to your phone.
  • We don’t store your messages, the replies or your health information. Our server keeps only a monthly message count, plus a few short-lived counters (for rate limits, and a note for a few minutes thatTempo Premium is active), all tied to an anonymous ID rather than your name or email, and all expiring automatically. Your conversation history stays on your iPhone.
  • Anthropic processes this information as our service provider, under its Commercial Terms of Service, which state that Anthropic may not train its models on content sent through its API. How Anthropic handles that data is described in its Privacy Policy.

If you don’t give consent, or you withdraw it, nothing is sent and the rest of Tempo works the same.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service provider, to check whether Tempo Premium is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase status from Apple — no health information. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

What we never do

  • No ads, and no advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
  • No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • We never sell or rent your information.
  • Your health information is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and never shared with data brokers or advertising platforms.

Your choices

Withdraw consent

  • To stop Remi chats from sending anything, turn off the Remi consent toggle in the app.
  • To stop Tempo reading from the Apple Health app, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Tempo on your iPhone and turn off the categories you no longer want to share.

Delete your information

  • Deleting the Tempo app removes everything it stored on your iPhone. Your records in the Apple Health app are not affected.
  • Message counts on our server expire on their own within about 40 days; the other counters within a day.
  • To delete your subscription record held by RevenueCat, email hello@foxtide.co and we’ll help you find your anonymous ID and delete the record. Deleting that record doesn’t cancel a subscription — cancel in your iPhone’s Settings.

This website

This site has no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

Children

Tempo is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used Remi, email us and we’ll help.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date above, and if the change is significant we’ll tell you in the app before it applies to you.
